Abstract
  • The issue of citizens' electoral rights is extremely important and requires constant study of situations and problems related to the peculiarities of the implementation of such rights. The above-mentioned situations and problems are diverse, and their specificity is always due to the peculiarities of the electoral system of a particular country. For example, in some countries, the most urgent problems are related to the observance of the rights of indigenous peoples and their participation in political life, in others, prob-lems related to ensuring gender equality and the functioning of political parties are relevant. Depending on the countries, the ways of solving problems related to the proper implementation of the electoral right by citi-zens also vary. Thus, in the countries of Latin America, which includes Venezuela, the electoral justice bodies are an effective mechanism for simultaneously developing democracy in general and the electoral system in particular. At the same time, the analysis of the pecurities of the electoral process in Venezuela showed that electoral justice in the country is not at all an element of democratic elections, but a stumbling block between the opposition and the followers of Chavismo, characterized by the fact that the democratic principles of free-dom and justice are grossly and systematically violated, and the elections have actually become an instrument of authoritarian rule, and even 8 years after the death of its founder, continues to dominate the country.
